MONTEBELLO - FOOD TRADITION AND ORGANIC
Alce Nero Cooperative born in the 70’s as an answer to the exodus from the countryside. Gradually, an area that had been abandoned for decades was reclaimed; an old monastery was renovated, a stall, a mill, a pasta factory were built and lastly, a wooden storehouse, built following bio-building techniques. Production activities are joined by continuing policy of quality and research that over the years has created the image of consolidated reliability of the highest level, which is a characteristic feature of the cooperative's organic products everywhere; organic products that are now on sale under the new brand name of "Montebello". What perhaps makes the work of the cooperative so precious and unique are its cultural and awareness-raising activities, aimed at those who have an alternative lifestyle at heart, a critical way of living with health problems and food and last but by no means least, a sense of human history. It is easy to find the hills of Montebello full of schoolchildren or groups who have come to find out about our activities, history and environment.
